VEDDAC strain - Opticcal extensometer
Optical extensometer - VEDDAC strain

VEDDAC strain is a universal and flexible software for determining strains and length changes under tensile and compressive loading.

Both longitudinal and transverse strain can be determined with maximum strain resolution without marking the specimen.

In-situ - flexible - easy handling

VEDDAC strain is the core software of the optical extensometer microDAC® strain, but can also be used separately for automated evaluation of the images/image sequences of your tensile/compression tests.

VEDDAC strain for evaluation of your tensile/compression tests

VEDDAC strain can be used as stand-alone software for automated strain measurement on tensile and compression loaded specimens.

The images that are taken during your test are automatically loaded by VEDDAC strain via an interface for external image sources and the values for the length change (elongation in µm) and the strain (%) are determined in-situ. The longitudinal and transverse elongation can be determined simultaneously, from which the Young's modulus and the Poisson's ratio in the elastic region can be determined, and the uniform elongation, elongation at fracture and anisotropies in the plastic region can be determined.

Only a few input parameters are required for the preparation of the evaluation, such as the determination of the measuring point distances, the correlation parameters and the conversion factor from pixels to a length unit.

The result is a log file with the determined values for length change and elongation. The images with the displacement vectors can be saved as an image or video. A result diagram displays the curve of the length changes or strains in real time parallel to the evaluation. The user can freely select the displayed data on the X and Y axes, zoom into areas and compare them with each other.

With VEDDAC strain, repeated evaluations of an experiment in post-processing are also possible.

VEDDAC strain for tension/compression modules from Kammrath & Weiss

With a software interface to the Kammrath & Weiss - tension/compression module, the images can be loaded into the VEDDAC strain simultaneously for force measurement, and the length changes and strains determined can be transferred to the control software of the tension/compression module in situ.
