Metallography - Damage analysis

Metallographic microsection analysis is a preferred method for visualizing the microstructure of materials and composites. Component-specific features are recorded and thus enable an evaluation of the existing conditions of the respective object under investigation, in particular also in relation to comparable objects.

The method is used to find possible causes of failures and malfunctions that are often reflected in details of the microstructure.

For such tasks within the scope of damage analyses, a preliminary X-ray inspection is advisable in order to enable target preparation to conspicuous areas.

We carry out microsection analyses and use metallographic methods for damage analyses. Suitable methods for metallographic preparation are used, adapted to the task at hand. With a variety of microscopic images of the microstructure of objects, the respective facts are visualized in a targeted manner. We will be happy to advise you on the implementation of your specific task.
